French Shallot Tart

Caramelized shallots baked in pastry with a simple egg and cream custard.

    Preheat the oven to 350°F.

    Cook the shallots in butter over medium-low heat for 20 to 30 minutes until soft and caramelized.

    Beat the eggs with the cream, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.

    Line a tart pan with the pastry and prick the base with a fork.

    Spread the shallots over the pastry and pour the custard over them.
